There is always a way to build a structure in plastic lumber, however, choosing the right grade is key.
Premium Grade
Attention furniture makers, this is the plastic lumber you are looking for! Our premium grade plastic lumber has the nicest finish, and is the usual choice when there is any milling required.
It is also the best choice for decking since it is available in tongue and groove and many other stock sizes and shapes. You’ll never have to worry about unsightly warps, splits, or cracks. Perhaps best of all, you’ll never need to seal, stain, or paint. Your recycled plastic lumber decking is a one time installation that will look as good five, ten, thirty and fifty years from now as it does today with no further costs.

Structural grade
The Structural Plastic Lumber is fiberglass reinforced plastic that makes the lumber approximately 3 times stiffer than the molded or premium grades. When installed correctly, structural grade lumber is perfect for areas with heavy foot traffic and even vehicle traffic.
Common uses are for under-structure in deck, dock, and boardwalk construction, signs, and fence posts. Structural lumber won’t just solve your design challenges, it will also reduce maintenance costs in the long run. Why? It won’t corrode, rot, or attract wood burrowing insects and it never needs to be stained, sealed, or painted.

Molded Grade
The Molded Grade is a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) lumber that uses a different extrusion method, the result being a recycled plastic wood with a slightly rougher skin grain. This method also limits maximum length availability, and you are more likely to find internal “voids”, though usually small.
Molded Grade is frequently used as turf nailers, landscaping applications, framing in commercial settings where sanitation is a concern such as food distribution centers, and in building applications.
