Structural Plastic Boards

The Structural Plastic Lumber boards have the same attributes as described for the molded grades with one major difference. The fiberglass reinforced plywood makes the structural plastic lumber boards approximately 3 times stiffer than the molded or premium grade lumber boards. These boards are the choice when free spans beyond the capability of the other grades are required. Common uses are for under-structure in deck, dock and boardwalk construction, sign and fence posts though there are many other potential applications such as pergolas and arbors. This grade, because of the dense fiberglass additive is also the heaviest board on a size by size comparison with the other grades.

Chemical Resistance

Since high density polyethylene has a high resistance to most acids and chemicals, Plastic Lumber is not affected by exposure to most substances.

Ultraviolet Weathering

An ultraviolet stabilizer is incorporated at the time of manufacture. It protects the plastic from ultraviolet light degradation and ensures that the outside of the product will not degrade in exterior applications.
